She dyes her hair all the right colors
and smiles that sweet smile
Picks the clothes that are perfect
and strikes a great pose
But she never feels its enough
always worried she will be left behind
She just wants to be pretty
to know there is someone who cares
She just wants to be loved.
I wonder does she know she already is.
She writes in simple meter
her deepest fears
She plays down her intelligence
tries not to intimidated
but she always feels out of place
she is afraid she is too far ahead
She just wants to be pretty
to have someone understand
She just wants to be loved
I wonder does she know she already is
She avoids conflicts whenever possible
and runs from perceived anger
she tries to be supportive
beyond the expected
but she always feels she is lacking
always worried that they lie.

to know they will be there

Beautiful
She sliced into her skin, tears streaming down her face. She looked up at her ceiling, covered in glow-in-the-dark stars. She marveled at them, then looked down at her butchered thighs and wrists. She heard the door creak open, and saw him come in. His eyes widened, taking how she was covered in her own blood, still holding the box cutter. She fell to her side and lay bleeding on the carpet. He rushed over to her and gathered her in his lap, still sitting on the floor. She gave a weak smile up to him and asked:
"Am I beautiful yet?"

Pretty little girl,
don't grow up today.
People around you rape your Innocence
But in the end you need to stay.

don't get lost in the mess.
I know things get hard
but every time you return
you come with another regret.

doesn't mean the things you turn to will give way.

I Want To Be Amazing
To chase the sunset on the shore of the ocean, and be able to hold it there in my hands as the light slowly falls away. To find the ladder to heaven, and climb it to see if the stories are really true. To listen to the soft melody of your heart without complications, and have it lull me to sleep. Those are my hopes and dreams.
I want to catch the stars of the country sky and paint them onto a picture just for you. To be able to hold it in comparison to your magnificence, and be able to truly proclaim you the better of the two. I want to climb to the moon and dive off of it, then gently float to earth, not forgetting to say hello to every st

Written while i was thinking about a piece by ~obsidian-nightfire called I just want to be pretty for you. You should check it out if you haven't already. She is an amazing photographer and poet. Anyway this is just a poem i put together based on that idea.
